Problems that are not bugs
A meaningful share of BioEden "bugs" are systems working as designed but communicated badly. Before you verify game files, check whether one of these is what you are actually seeing:

General first steps
If your problem is not listed above and not one of the four pages linked at the top, work through these in order before doing anything drastic:
- Verify the install. On Steam, right-click BioEden, Properties, Installed Files, Verify integrity of game
files. This catches the majority of corrupt-download problems.
- Confirm you are on an SSD. BioEden's Steam listing specifies an SSD in both minimum and recommended specs.
It is only a 3 GB install, so moving it is quick, and running from a mechanical drive is a genuine cause of stutter and long loads.
- Update your GPU driver. Launch-window rendering bugs, including black-screen cutscenes, are very often
driver-side rather than game-side.
- Disable overlays. Steam overlay, Discord overlay, GeForce Experience and capture software are the usual
suspects for a black screen with working audio.
- Check the official discussion board. If a problem is widespread it will already have a thread, often with a
developer response. The BioEden Steam discussions board is the fastest place to confirm you are not alone.
Reporting a bug properly
Broken Arms Games is a small studio and a well-written report genuinely helps. Include your GPU and driver version, whether you are on an SSD, what you were doing immediately before the problem, and a screenshot. Post it on the official Steam board rather than only in a Discord thread, so it is searchable for the next person.
Accessibility notes
One recurring piece of demo feedback deserves flagging: the opening sequence was reported as needing subtitles. BioEden ships with subtitle support in all eleven of its languages, but if a specific cinematic is missing them, that is worth reporting as an accessibility issue rather than a bug. Full controller support and DualSense support are both confirmed, so remapping through Steam Input is available if you need alternative controls.
