BioEden Temperature & Humidity Chart

Quick answer

Every BioEden species has a temperature band and a humidity band, and a dome must hold both. Landowl, the only species with published values, needs 20–45° and 55–90% humidity. Use the dome temperature and humidity overlays rather than the average — a dome with an acceptable average can still have a corner outside the band.

Temperature and humidity are the two dials that decide whether a BioEden dome works. Every species has a band for each, and every dome is an attempt to hold both inside those bands at once.

Landowl is currently the only BioEden species whose exact climate band appears in official material. Every other row on this chart is honestly empty rather than filled with a plausible guess, because a wrong number here would cost you a dome. If you can screenshot another species' Bestiary card with its Temperature and Humidity values visible, send it in and this table grows with a credit.

How the bands work

A species' band is a range, not a target. Landowl accepts anything from 20° to 45°, which means:

  • Below 20° or above 45° — the Biome requirement fails. The animal cannot survive here.
  • Anywhere between — the Biome requirement is satisfied. The animal survives.

The same logic applies to humidity. Landowl's 55–90% band gives a 35-point window, which is wide enough that an imprecisely tuned dome will still land inside it.

There is also an optional Perfect rating above simply being inside the band. What BioEden requires for it has not been published, so no target value appears on this chart.

Reading the dome overlays

Inside a dome, a row of overlay toggles appears at the bottom of the screen. Official screenshots show four: animals, plants, temperature and humidity. The climate overlays are the most useful diagnostic tool in BioEden and most players discover them late.

The reason they matter is that a dome does not have one temperature. It has a distribution. A humidifier in one corner creates a gradient, a watering hole creates a local microclimate, and dense vegetation changes conditions around it. A dome that reports an acceptable average can easily have a corner outside the band — and an animal that spends its time in that corner is, from the game's perspective, outside its band.

If an animal will not settle and the numbers look right, turn on the overlays before you change anything.

Raising and lowering each value

GoalTools
Raise temperatureAmbient biome heat, dense vegetation, positioning within a hot region
Lower temperatureAir conditioners (power draw)
Raise humidityHumidifiers (water draw), watering holes, water features
Lower humidityReduce water features; rely on drier ambient biome conditions

Two structural points follow from this table:

  1. The ambient biome does most of the work. Building a Jungle dome in a Jungle region means fewer devices, a

lower ongoing water and power bill, and a more stable climate. Building a Jungle dome in a Tundra region means fighting the ambient conditions forever.

  1. Climate devices are a continuous cost, not a one-off. They draw power and water for as long as they run,

which is why network headroom matters and why Umbra's Added Electrolytes perk (−10% device water consumption) compounds across a long campaign.

Stability beats precision

A dome whose temperature swings back and forth across the band is worse than one that holds a steady value inside it. Residency and Mating are sustained states rather than one-off checks, so a climate that oscillates because devices keep cutting out will cause problems that a steady, unremarkable climate never does.

The practical consequence: fix your networks before you fine-tune your thermostat.

Planning a dome around two species

If two species must share a dome, their bands have to overlap, and the shared value has to sit inside the overlap for both. If the overlap is narrow, expect a functional dome rather than an exceptional one. If there is no overlap at all, you need either two domes or a climate wedge layout.

Quick checklist for a climate problem

  1. Check the species' band in the Bestiary Biome tab — the exact numbers, not your memory of them.
  2. Turn on the temperature and humidity overlays and look for corners outside the band.
  3. Confirm your climate devices are powered and watered, not just placed.
  4. Confirm the network has headroom so they are not cutting in and out.
  5. Only then adjust the target value — and change one thing at a time so you can tell what worked.

Frequently asked questions

How do you change temperature in BioEden?

Air conditioners lower it and draw power; ambient biome heat, dense vegetation and region choice raise it. Building a dome in a matching ambient biome means fewer devices and a lower running cost.

How do you increase humidity in BioEden?

Humidifiers, which draw water continuously, plus watering holes and other water features that raise local humidity around them.

What temperature and humidity does each BioEden animal need?

Only Landowl's values appear in official material so far: 20–45° and 55–90%. We have deliberately left the other species blank rather than guessing.

Why does my dome show the right temperature but the animal is unhappy?

A dome has a distribution, not a single value. Turn on the temperature and humidity overlays and look for a corner outside the band where the animal is spending its time.

How this BioEden page was verified

BioEden Wiki & Guide is an independent fan resource, not an official one. The biome names, region labels and pollution figures on this page were transcribed from official BioEden screenshots; climate bands come from the in-game Bestiary. Where BioEden has not published a value, this page says so instead of guessing, because a wrong number in a BioEden guide costs a reader a dome rather than merely being untidy. Spot something out of date after a BioEden patch? Send us a correction and we will fix it and log it on the BioEden news page.
