Tracked updates for BioEden, plus the open questions we are actively watching. Patch notes appear on the official Steam news feed first; this page records what changed and which wiki pages were affected.
3 September 2026 — BioEden launches on all four platforms
BioEden released simultaneously on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 at $19.99 / £17.99 / €21.99, a 9% discount from the $21.99 list price. There was no timed exclusivity and no staggered console rollout.
Confirmed at launch: single-player only, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, full controller support, DualSense support, eleven languages with English full audio, a 3 GB install with an SSD requirement in both spec tiers.
Before launch — demo and announcement
A free demo covering the full tutorial appeared on Steam ahead of release and remained available at launch. The game was shown in a gameplay trailer at the FutureGames Live Show, and the September date was confirmed across PC and consoles well in advance. It did not slip.
What we are watching
These are the open questions this wiki will update as soon as anything official appears:

| Game Pass / PS Plus | No announcement either way | Xbox, PS5 |
| Console frame rate targets | Not published; no independent analysis yet | Switch 2, PS5 |
| DLC or content roadmap | Asked by players during the demo; unanswered at launch | How long to beat |
| Cross-platform saves | Not announced | Platforms |
| Black screen cinematic fix | Reported by multiple players; no patch confirmed | Black screen fix |
| Full species rosters | Only the Jungle roster is public | Animals, Temperature chart |
| Mod support | Not announced | FAQ |
Will BioEden get DLC?
Players asked *"Will there be more?"* on the official Steam board during the demo period and the question had not been definitively answered at launch. Nothing has been announced.
For a $19.99 release from a mid-size publisher, post-launch content is plausible but not guaranteed. We will record any announcement here rather than speculating about it on the guide pages.
How we handle patches
When a patch changes a number this wiki publishes — a temperature band, a DNA cost, a building's pollution effect — we update the affected page and note it here. A guide quoting a value the game no longer uses is actively harmful, so accuracy after a patch matters more than being first to publish.
If you notice a discrepancy between this site and your game after an update, tell us. That is usually how these get caught first.
How to follow BioEden updates yourself
If you would rather not wait for us, these are the fastest first-party sources, in the order they usually publish:
- The Steam store page news feed. Patch notes land here first. If you own BioEden on Steam, they also appear in
your library's Activity feed automatically.
- The official Discord, linked from the Steam store page. Informal announcements and developer replies often
appear here before they are formalised anywhere else.
- The official Steam discussion board. Not an announcement channel, but the place where a problem gets
confirmed as widespread before a patch addresses it.
- Focus Entertainment's newsroom and the Focus Together community blog. Where larger announcements — DLC,
roadmaps, console updates — would be published.
Console patch notes generally trail the PC release. If a fix ships on Steam, allow time before assuming the same change has reached PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2.
Launch week: what to look out for
The first week after a small-studio launch is when the most changes happen. Based on what was reported during the demo period, the things most likely to be addressed first are the intro cinematic black screen, subtitle coverage on the opening sequence, and quality-of-life additions players asked for repeatedly — map overlays for resources and pollution were a recurring request.
None of those are game-breaking, which is worth stating plainly: BioEden shipped in a stable state, and the outstanding issues are annoyances rather than blockers.

How this BioEden page was verified
BioEden Wiki & Guide is an independent fan resource, not an official one. The release and update details on this page come from the official BioEden Steam news feed and Focus Entertainment announcements. Where BioEden has not published a value, this page says so instead of guessing, because a wrong number in a BioEden guide costs a reader a dome rather than merely being untidy. Spot something out of date after a BioEden patch? Send us a correction and we will fix it and log it on the BioEden news page.
