BioEden Game Guide & Wiki

Welcome to the unofficial BioEden game wiki and strategy guide — a fan-built database for the cozy solarpunk management game where you rebuild a dead planet one dome at a time. Every number on this site is checked against the official Steam store page, the official reveal trailer and in-game screenshots.

What is the BioEden game?

The BioEden game is a cozy management game about ecological restoration, released on 3 September 2026 by Broken Arms Games and Focus Entertainment. You play a Keeper working for the Cosmic Collective, sent to a planet that has been stripped bare by an event the game calls the Great Unraveling. Your job is not to conquer that planet. It is to slowly bring it back: purify the water, recycle the debris of whatever civilisation was here before, build sealed domes with controlled climates, and use banked DNA to hatch animal species that went extinct.

The BioEden game sits in the same shelf as Terra Nil and Dorfromantik rather than Frostpunk. There are no enemies, no combat, no timers and no score. Every building you place can be recycled for a full refund, which means the game is almost impossible to lose by accident. What the marketing does not always mention — and what this BioEden wiki covers in detail — is that the planet does push back. Let your Impact Level and regional pollution climb far enough and the Collective imposes Active Regulations on you, and a red Crisis Alert appears. It is a gentle game, but it is a game with opinions.

The BioEden game core loop in 60 seconds

Almost everything in the BioEden game is a variation on this eight-step loop. Learn it once and the rest of the game is detail.

  1. Survey the hex grid. Walk your Keeper across the tiles outside and look for debris sites — the rusted leftovers that seed your whole economy.
  2. Recycle debris into resources. Salvage first, build second. Building before you have surveyed is the single most common opening mistake in BioEden.
  3. Raise one power source and one water source. A solar pylon and a water distributor, connected by the shortest cable and pipe runs you can manage.
  4. Place a dome and an Incubator inside it. The Incubator is where a banked genome becomes a living animal.
  5. Spend DNA in the Bestiary. Species are grouped by biome — Forest, Jungle, Prairie, Savannah and Tundra — and each costs a fixed number of DNA fragments.
  6. Match the climate to the species. Every BioEden animal wants a temperature band, a humidity band, specific plants and enough decoration. Landowl, the tutorial bird, wants 20–45°, 55–90% humidity and two Ferns.
  7. Push each animal through its three stages. Biome, then Residency, then Mating. The Bestiary shows all three as separate tabs with separate requirement lists.
  8. Watch pollution and Impact Level. The globe in the HUD shows the pollution percentage of the region you are looking at. Orb Factories in particular are pollution engines.

Why this BioEden wiki exists

Most of what was written about the BioEden game before launch was recycled from the same press release. This site is built the other way around: from the questions players are actually asking. The Carnivore Feeder has its own page because “where is the Carnivore Feeder” is one of the most common BioEden game searches and one of the most active threads on the official Steam forum. The black screen fix has its own page because four different players reported the same intro cutscene bug. The animal database lists DNA costs because those numbers are visible in official screenshots and nobody had transcribed them.

Where a number comes from an official source, we say so. Where something is still unconfirmed — console performance, Steam Deck verification, DLC plans — we say that too, instead of guessing. If you spot something wrong, tell us and it gets fixed.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of game is BioEden?

BioEden is a single-player cozy management and ecosystem-building game. You place buildings on a hex grid, run power and water networks, and raise sealed domes whose temperature and humidity you tune to suit specific animal species. It is closest to Terra Nil and Dorfromantik in tone, with a deeper economy layer than either.

Is BioEden on Steam, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2?

Yes. BioEden launched on all four on 3 September 2026. The Steam version also has a free demo, and the Xbox listing covers Xbox Series X|S. See our platform hub for each version.

How much does BioEden cost?

BioEden is $19.99 / £17.99 / €21.99 at launch, discounted 9% from a $21.99 list price. There is no season pass and no confirmed deluxe edition. Full detail on the release date page.

Can you lose or fail in BioEden?

There is no game-over screen and every building can be recycled for a refund, so you cannot permanently ruin a save. You can still be penalised: high pollution and a high Impact Level cause the Collective to apply Active Regulations and raise a Crisis Alert. See pollution and Impact Level.

Does BioEden have multiplayer or co-op?

No. BioEden is listed on Steam as single-player only, with no co-op or multiplayer category. There is no announced plan to add one.

Is there a BioEden demo?

Yes, a free demo on Steam that covers the full tutorial. Demo saves do not carry into the full game. See the demo guide.

How long does BioEden take to finish?

No verified completion figure exists yet — BioEden released on 3 September 2026 and we will not publish an estimate as if it were a fact. What drives the length is five biomes, dozens of species with three progression stages each, and a per-biome research tree. See how long to beat.

Is this the official BioEden website?

No. This is an independent fan wiki. The official pages are the Steam store page and Focus Entertainment's BioEden page. Official links are listed in the footer of every page here.

How this BioEden page was verified

BioEden Wiki & Guide is an independent fan resource, not an official one. The facts about BioEden on this page were checked against the official Steam store page and Focus Entertainment's official game page. Where BioEden has not published a value, this page says so instead of guessing, because a wrong number in a BioEden guide costs a reader a dome rather than merely being untidy. Spot something out of date after a BioEden patch? Send us a correction and we will fix it and log it on the BioEden news page.
